About yourself

Currently Sylvia is the title-holder of Miss Europe Continental Slovenia 2022.
Sylvia is of mixed ethnicity – Slovene after her mother and Anglo-Irish, Armenian after her father who hails from London.
Her step-grandfather Lt. Cmdr. Franc Valentinčič from Slovenia was captain of the torpedo boat Durmitor which with Kajmakčalan joined British Forces (British Royal Navy) in Crete to continue fighting the enemy for the duration of the war. Her step-grandmother Wacława Żarnowska was a prime ballerina from Poland and later a surgical nurse with the Polish Red Cross. (documentary film Usode, Destinies by Milan Ljubić, feat. Barbara Kobrzynska)
Sylvia’s diverse background allowed her to explore the world and gain an understanding of its many cultures at an early age.
She holds a BSc in Economics and Management from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. She has always excelled in her studies – being the recipient of the Golden Graduate (Zlata Matura) national award for outstanding high school graduates and a Zois scholarship for gifted students.
Her passion has also been languages such as Hindi, Arabic (Arabeya Arabic Language Center, Cairo) and German (Deutsches Sprachdiplom).
She has been an avid teacher of English to foreign students and holds a TEFL certificate. Having grown up in a bilingual family, Sylvia is now writing Slovene/English language books to offer new generations a fun and engaging way of learning.
In 2021 she completed her training as a paramedic with Red Cross Slovenia.
In her childhood she began training in both Indian and Egyptian dance styles and has endeavoured to spread arts in Slovenia and beyond through cultural programmes as a performer, stage producer and lecturer.
She is the initiator of the First Bollywood Flash Mob in Slovenia and First International Bollywood Flash Mob in which 19 cities participated worldwide as well as the organiser of charitable events and workshops with guest teachers.
She has also collaborated with the Indian Embassy in Slovenia on various occasions and worked as a dance teacher with both children and adults.
Sylvia has worked as a stage performer, choreographer and dancer in Indian music videos and is a recipient of the Saroj Khan award (Germany, 2016).
Nearly four years spent in India has been fruitful – learning both classical Indian dance Bharat Natyam and furthering her knowledge of performing on stage and method acting at Jeff Goldberg Studio in Mumbai.
Since 2018 she has been working as an actress, model, voice-over artist and background dancer in the Indian Bollywood film industry and even as a cheerleader of the Rajasthan Royals (2019).
Recently, she has also begun her own host talk show covering both entertainment, lifestyle and social issues (“Level Up” with Sylvia).

Why you applied for Miss Generation beauty pageant ?

Having met my colleague-model Alexandra Cichocka from Poland at another beauty pageant in Italy, I was quickly persuaded to take part in Miss Generation as she herself shared the wonderful experience she had had.
Despite having an extremely difficult year losing my grandmother whom I was very close to, I try to pursue my dreams and not give up. One part of the journey is setting goals and following them despite the inevitable hurdles.
Miss Generation gives me a platform to uplift myself and inspire women of my own and other generations to strive for and reach their full potential – whatever field of expertise or worthy cause this might be.
I have been surrounded by strong and encouraging women all my life and see no other option but to continue the legacy of advocating persistence and true beauty that goes beyond appearance.

Interests. Plans for the future and your dreams ?

Sylvia is now in the process of joining a voluntary charitable organisation in Armenia and hopes to contribute to the wellbeing of the local youth.
She aims to continue her career as a language teacher, dance instructress and passionate story-teller, aspiring to pursue her Masters Degree in Film Directing in the UK.
She is currently writing bilingual language books for Slovene children with the aim of helping them learn English in a fun and productive way.
Sylvia is about to release her first pop music single in 2021 “Single Hearts” as her singing gained the attention of music producer Ali R Taha.
